Take up arms with the Soviet Red Army as you fight on the Eastern Front of WWII in the sequel to the critically acclaimed real-time strategy series
Load your rifles and grab your winter coats, it’s time to head back to World War II in Relic Entertainment’s Company of Heroes 2, the highly anticipated sequel to the critically acclaimed 2006 game Company of Heroes. This time however the focus of the game will be on the Eastern Front as it showcases the trials and tribulations of the Soviet Red Army during the conflict.
The campaign mode focuses on the story of Lev Abramovich Isakovich, a former officer in the Soviet Army, as he recounts his time in the war from a prison in 1952 where he was arrested for crimes against the USSR. Expect significant historic moments like Operation: Barbarossa and the Battle of Berlin to make an appearance throughout the 14 campaign missions as you uncover Lev’s past and fight back the Nazi invasion.
Being dropped into the carnage and chaos of the first mission of the Stalingrad Rail Station you learn quickly what the tone of the game will be like and just what you need to do to get through. But you also learn another lesson amongst the tutorial; that every man is the same and one death on the battlefield means nothing compared to attaining victory. Such is what we have come to learn of the Soviets in WWII, and the Company of Heroes 2 campaign captures it perfectly.
