Tom Clancy's Rainbow 6: Patriots has been removed from GameStop's database, and is no longer available for pre-order. Some retailers automatically deactivate database entries after a lengthy period of time, which wouldn't mean much in this instance. A source told IGN that the retailer chose to "actively flipped a switch" to eliminate Rainbow 6 Patriots from their system.
This is highly unusual decision by GameStop as they tend to not remove big-name games from major publishers. The game's fate is still unknown as their hasn't been offical confirmation from Ubisoft. Rainbow 6: Patriots appeared on the cover of the Game Informer magazine in 2011.
Other retailer like Amazon.com still a hold a listing for Rainbow 6. The cancellation of pre-orders by GameStop dosen't point to the game being canceled, but makes us more cautious of the game's prospects. All signs pointed to Rainbow 6 being prepped for next-gen hardware. We will keep you update on this story if we hear anything more.
