Analyzing why video games continue to be an appealing activity as I grow older.
Pretty sure I still make this face.
As the months dwindle down towards my 30th birthday, I find myself reflecting more and more on my life. I think about where I am from, what I have accomplished, how I have changed, and what I want to do with the rest of my time. It’s amazing how much that simple gaming system influenced me. Little did my parents know that they were sending me on a journey that would last all of my adolescent life. Whether trying to explore new worlds, or just get away from the real one for a bit, there was always a reason for me to pop in a new cartridge and play. Today, I still enjoy gaming for mostly the same reasons I did back then. I also credit my interest in gaming for pushing me towards writing and exploring that part of my personality.
So at the end, I still have to ask myself one question: How old would I have to be to not enjoy engaging stories and rewarding feelings of accomplishment? Hmmmm….I think I will be playing video games for a while still.
