It’s a light week for the downloadable content from Nintendo. It’s mostly content for the 3DS eShop this week but the games available are still pretty good. For those who have been waiting for HarmoKnight, the wait is finally over. An old Game Boy Color classic game is also available this week, The Legend of the River King. Fans of the 3DS eShop will be getting all the fun this week. Let’s hit the ground running and get into the details.
It looks like the guys at Game Freak have done it again with the rhythm-centric game, HarmoKnight. You’ll have to use different methods to fight your way through more than 50 different levels to save the land of Melodia. Different characters have different abilities at your disposal. Some are able to slide under things and some can shoot different projectiles at the enemies. The game has locked secrets to discover as well as different level speeds to make the game more challenging; HarmoKnight has something for everyone who is a fan of the rhythm-centric genre.
The Legend of the River King is basically Pokemon meets fishing. You have your random encounters with “wild” animals such as spiders. You also are trying to catch the guardian fish to help save your sister from an illness. However no one knows where the guardian fish lives so it will take a lot of searching on your part to find the fish of legend. You can upgrade your fishing equipment as well as sell your caught fish to vendors in various towns along your journey. The music is pretty catchy and like I said, reminds me a lot of the Pokemon franchise. Other games available this week are Sonic and All Stars Racing Transformed from the 3DS eShop and Resident Evil: Revelations from the 3DS eShop.
