Kristin Kreuk talked to us about what it's like collaborating on Catherine Chandler's character, how the story is unfolding for her, and how the secrets will affect her character in these final few episodes.
Kristin Kreuk, all smiles at the Wondercon Press Room.
As if the screening of two thirds of the April 18th episode of Beauty and the Beast wasn't fantastic enough, we got a chance to sit down with Kristin Kreuk and talk about what it's like creating her character, Catherine Chandler. What we discovered is that building Catherine is a highly collaborative - and highly unique - experience for Kreuk.
I send my thoughts on almost every episode. I go through the entire [script] and if something doesn't work for me or if something doesn't make sense, I talk about it. We're very collaborative about that stuff. It's just a collaborative environment to build Catherine. It's not discover me time, it's discover Catherine Chandler time! I have never experienced that before.
Does Kruek have any ideas for where Catherine's character will go during the second season, if (WHEN), it is announced? Not yet, Kreuk says. The crew is currently filming the second to last episode of the season and Kreuk says she's so focused on where Cat is now that she hasn't really had a chance to consider where she may go in season 2. Plus, with the "pretty big" cliffhanger at the end of the season, "to figure out where it's going to go next season is a big task in my brain that I haven't gotten to yet".
