Pirates playing poker, now I heard everything!
It's that time again for a new episode of Chichuki Plays, the show where I go hands-on with upcoming games and show them off. Usually, it's about an hour or so but I don't want to spoil too much of the game for you. This time we're looking at the Piroker Playtest on Steam. I've heard of dogs playing poker, but pirates? Now I've seen everything.
Piroker is a cool idea on the multiplayer online game. You play against 7 other people by getting the best poker hand/score you can. Sounds simple enough right? Well, it's anything but simple. I'm not the biggest Poker player but I can say that I had a blast playing. To start you get to pick from a pool of characters, each with their own skills/special Poker moves. It could range from not taking damage on the first wave of attacks or having an advantage on certain card suits.
You get a three card draw to start and that's where things get interesting. After each draw, you'll get to pick one of three items that could turn the tide in your favor. It could also make things easier down the line too like getting free redraws and such. Match three of a certain item and you'll make it golden and more effective. You'll also get to draw a fish; that's like an added ability to your hand. The equipment appears to have the likelihood of how beneficial the item will be to your hand before you draw it in a percentage. I was going off that for my picks and things were going ok for me.
I played two rounds for the hands-on video but I really wanted to play more. You can also get weekly rewards/missions as well as overall rewards. Think games that want you to play every day and you'll have a feel for the rewards Piroker has to offer. I really would like to see this game come to console as some point as Ireally could see myself playing it every day if it did. I'd like to thank the devs for the playtest code.
