They made a new Snow Bros. game. I repeat they made a new Snow Bros. game!

It's that time again for a new episode of Chichuki Plays, the show where I go hands-on with upcoming games and show them off. Usually it's about an hour or so but I don't want to spoil too much of the game for you. This time, we're looking at Snow Brothers Wonderland on the Nintendo Switch. If you know anything about me, you know that I love Snow Brothers and love the idea that the franchise is back, hopefully to stay.

Long story short, you take on the role of Prince Tom or Nick, who are the sons of Tom and Nick who starred in the first Snow Brothers game. When I first saw the look of the characters, I didn't like what I saw. However, when I found out they were children, the look made so much sense and fit them perfectly. If you don't like the look, there's plenty of custom items like glasses, headgear, and scarves just to name a few. I was wearing ski goggles for a bit and then switched to a hockey/Jason-like mask and it looked so good. You collect Sushi coins throughout the journey and you'll need those to buy all kinds of stuff. You'll be able to buy new clothing, new music to listen to or new abilities to use.

Snow Brothers Wonderland does an interesting thing with the attacks/abilities. You have the option to purchase abilities in the overworld area and set up to three. You'll have to find the ones you like best but that isn't the only way you get abilities to use. You can find them in bottles, like the original game, in stages and have them to use. It looked like some of those were on a timer or lost after you got hit one time. The game is a little more solving puzzles than the NES game. There is still plenty of platforming in the game but you'll have to think more about how to throw snow to gain points. One minor issue I had with the game was that the jumping physics didn't feel tight enough. It felt like there were times where I would press the jump button and Tom/Nick wouldn't jump properly. It certainly doesn't make the game unplayable but it does make things a little tougher.

Fans of the classic Snow Bros games will be in heaven with this, I know I was. The music has that modern feel and yet still feels like the classic. The same could be said for the boss encounters. Snow Bros Wonderland feels like the perfect combo between retro and modern and is the perfect game to play this winter season!
