Take a look at Leximan on Chichuki Views!

It's that time again for a new episode of Chichuki Views, the show where I go hands-on with upcoming games and show them off. Usually it's about an hour or so but I don't want to spoil too much of the game for you. Today, we're checking out Leximan on Steam.

To start things off, you arrive at Academy Elementinia, a school for wizards in the heart of wild magic. You meet the Principal named Elementine who reluctantly takes you into the academy, after seeing your skills of course. You skill is in the way of the word and what I mean by that is that you have the uncanny ability to use words to create magic/spells. The fighting/attack system reminds me a lot of Undertale. I have to say I really like that the game gives you freedom to use whatever word combinations you'd like, even if that doesn't help the situation at all. One time we tried to put out a wizard on fire with more fire and that wasn't going to help anyone.

After learning the basics and annoying the Principal for the last time, Leximan gets sent to the basement of the academy with the rest of the rejects. We meet our friend, Wressa, in the basement and Wressa is a master of potion-crafting. However, long story short, the academy needs the help of the rejects after it's attacked and its up to Leximan and friends to save the day. I have to say that I really like the battle mechanics in Leximan and the writing is really fun too. It allows you to make your own choices and have some fun with the situations and allows you to make slight mistakes too. Like when I was fighting Boneroaster, the dragon, and thought I needed to spell "water" but in reality, I needed to spell "tape" to tape its mouth shut. The basics of battle are finding the right word at the right time. Words could be spelling letters or finding pieces of the right word you need.

I really liked my time with Leximan and I really enjoyed the writing of the game as well as the graphical stylings. I was really getting attached to the characters in the game and recommend Leximan!
