The school best known for creating video game developers also has great Hollywood connections.
While gamers know the school for its work in hit video games, Full Sail University has plenty of Hollywood graduates as well. In fact, the school had 35 graduates who worked on seven Oscar-winning films at the 85th annual Academy Awards. Graduates of Full Sail University have participated in industry roles on 11 Best Picture winning films over the last 18 years, including this year’s Best Picture winner, Argo.
Full Sail graduates worked on films that won in categories including: Best Picture, Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role, Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role, Best Animated Feature, Directing, Cinematography, Film Editing, Sound Editing, Writing (Original Screenplay), Writing (Adapted Screenplay), Music (Original Score), Music (Original Song), Production Design, and Visual Effects. Among these categories, Full Sail graduates were credited on the winning films: Argo, Brave, Django Unchained, Life of Pi, Lincoln, Skyfall, and Zero Dark Thirty.
At this year’s awards ceremony, a total of 118 graduates were credited on 22 Oscar-nominated motion pictures including: Flight, The Impossible, The Sessions, ParaNorman, The Pirates! Band of Misfits, Wreck-It Ralph, Mirror Mirror, Marvel’s The Avengers, Prometheus, Moonrise Kingdom, Snow White and The Huntsman, Hitchcock, Ted, The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, and Maggie Simpson In The Longest Daycare.
