Gameplay trailer for Save The Light brings new info!

Cartoon Network offered fans at Comic-Con International: San Diego exclusive Save The Light and Steven Universe Soundtrack: Volume 1 announcements during their Steven Universe panel Friday.

The first official gameplay trailer for Save the Light, the upcoming console RPG from the imaginative world of Cartoon Network’s hit series Steven Universe, introduces Squaridot, a new game-exclusive gem, to the beloved franchise. Squaridot guards the Great North as an ally of the game’s yet-to-be-revealed main villain. The new footage also introduces Peridot as one of the playable characters and showcases some of the fusion characters players can unleash in turn-based battles, such as Stevonnie (Steven and his friend Connie), Opal (Amethyst and Pearl) and Sardonyx (Garnet and Pearl).

Cartoon Network also invited fans to join Estelle for a one-of-a-kind sing-along experience in San Diego’s Horton Plaza on Sunday, July 23, to celebrate love, kindness, inclusion and the newly announced Steven Universe Soundtrack: Volume 1 vinyl release with a special performance of “Stronger Than You.” Fans, who will be part of the official single music video, are encouraged to come in cosplay or grab a free specially made t-shirt on arrival. The complete soundtrack vinyl from iam8bit is now available for preorder and offers fans a collectible version of the chart-topping digital album with 4-LP 10” discs representing the four primary crystal gems and a special inside gatefold.

More information on the “Stronger Than You” pop performance is available on Cartoon Network’s Facebook page at facebook.com/cartoonnetwork. Information on the Steven Universe Soundtrack: Volume 1 vinyl preorder and release is available at iam8bit.com.

An original adventure developed by Cartoon Network and Grumpyface Studios in partnership with Steven Universe series creator Rebecca Sugar, Save the Light is a sequel to the 2015 hit mobile game Attack the Light. Assemble a party from eight unique heroes – including newly playable characters like Peridot, Greg Universe and more – and explore colorful 3D environments in search of new challenges and powers for the team. Save the Light is expected to launch this fall on the PlayStation 4 computer entertainment system and Xbox One.

Steven Universe Soundtrack: Volume 1 debuted earlier this year on the top of six Billboard charts, including the Billboard Top 200. Originally released on June 2, 2017, as a digital download album, the “Stronger Than You” 7” inch vinyl was made available as a limited edition at San Diego Comic-Con. The full soundtrack vinyl will be released later this year.
