Fund raising effort marks largest sum secured for film or TV property ever on Kickstarter.com.

Video Game High School Season 2, the follow-up to the breakout online series produced by Rocket Jump Studios  Collective Digital Studio that debuted in June 2012 and attracted more than 50 million viewers across YouTube and RocketJump.com, has officially secured the greatest amount of funding for content in the history of Kickstarter.com. Tapping into more than 10,000 backers, show creators Freddie Wong, Brandon Laatsch, and Matt Arnold raised $808,341 with some crowd-funders contributing $10,000 or more each. The Kickstarter.com crowd-fund, which began in December, concluded at 11:59pm PT on Monday, February 11.

“The support we received was overwhelming,” said Wong. "I believe the ability for creators like ourselves to directly reach our audiences is the future of all independent creative endeavors - from film and video to music. It demonstrates how creators and audiences can collaborate and create something truly special."

Video Game High School (VGHS) is set in an alternate reality where professional video gaming becomes the biggest spectator sport in the world.  It follows Brian D, an aspiring pro gamer who lands an invitation to VGHS, the most prestigious gaming academy in the world.   Close to $275,000 was raised on Kickstarter.com for the production of the first season, which can be viewed at www.rocketjump.com/vghs.

Season Two will take place over six TV-length episodes, for a total of 160-180 minutes of action-packed goodness. After a shocking scandal puts The Law in handcuffs and VGHS’s reputation on the line, it’s up to Brian D and Jenny Matrix to take the embattled FPS team to victory and redemption. Vehicles will explode and hearts will break as Brian and Jenny battle the toughest gamer schools in the world-- all while dealing with the team’s new coach: Mary Matrix, Jenny’s win-at-all-costs mother.
