The big screen adaptation of The World of Warcraft franchise has been mostly talked about in online rumors and little bits. It finally has a director and you can’t have a movie without a director. His name is Duncan Jones and he is probably most known for directing Source Code, starring Jake Gyllenhaal. Thomas Tull and Jon Jashni will produce it along with Charles Roven and Alex Gartner. It looks like the behind the scenes crew is coming along nicely but not much is being released about the actual movie. They have a lot of time to reveal details about the picture; it isn’t slated to be released until 2015.
Jones started his directing career in sci-fi and what better franchise to have a guy that is big on sci-fi than the WOW franchise. The movie is expected to have a budget that will exceed 100 million dollars so Jones should be able to most of what he feels will make the movie a smash hit. Who knows, big budget movies tend to flop but I won’t make judgments on it until I have an idea of what it’s gonna be about and who knows when that could happen.
