With THQ no longer in business, it looks like 2K Sports will be getting the WWE video game license.
According to online reports, THQ’s bestselling WWE video game franchise is heading to Take-Two Interactive. With 2K Sports exiting the baseball game business this year, wrestling could be its next focus. 2K Sports already has the bestselling NBA 2K13 game franchise. While Electronic Arts would have seemed like a good fit for WWE games, especially after picking up the UFC license from THQ, it looks like pro wrestling will migrate to Take-Two. This license would give the game maker the ability to deliver at least one new WWE game every year. Whether there’s enough time to deliver a game this year remains to be seen. WWE 14 would have been in development at THQ’s Yuke’s developer. WWE Superstar Dolph Ziggler talks about WWE and video games in the exclusive video interview below.
