MLB 13 The Show improves upon what has been delivered in previous franchise releases, and also adds many new features that continue to push the envelope in the sports video game genre.
San Diego Studios' Community Specialist Ramone Russell talks about the improvements MLB 13 The Show delievers to gamers on March 5th. MLB features an All-New Playoff Mode which puts players right into the playoffs. In previous versions, you either had to make the playoffs in Road to the Show, which could take years depending on your skill level, or you would to play through all 162 games of your franchise season. Now you can pick any team and it starts the playoff presentation package that you only get in postseason mode.
A new beginner mode has been created for an accessible pick-up-and-play baseball experience. San Diego Studio takes player feedback very seriously one of their biggest complaints from ans is that their game was inaccessible and difficult. So they created a mode that actually teaches novice users how to play MLB. Beginner Mode is very straight forward and starts with the pitcher only throwing fastballs right down the middle until you make contact a few times. Using adaptive A.I. pitchers change up the pitches as player rank up until players can recognize the change of speeds. As you progress to level three, Adaptive AI pitchers are throwing three pitches and they're moving around the zone. The Beginner Mode offers players a constant progression until they graduate and are adept at playing the game.
Play Now mode has also been improved for faster and simpler games. Cross platform play in Home Run Derby mode and save functionality between the PS3 and PS Vita versions make MLB 13 the Show an All Star choice amongst gamers.
