Warner Home Video will bring LEGO Batman: The Movie: DC Super Heroes Unite to Blu-ray and DVD on May 21.
The new CGI movie is a spinoff of TT Games’ hit sequel, LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes. In fact, some sequences from the straight-to-video release were taken straight from the game’s cut scenes, although Warner Bros. gave them a CGI upgrade for a better look.
The film will unite Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman and Green Lantern against The Joker and Lex Luther to save Gotham City. Other super heroes and super villains will be featured in the film, as they were in the game. The movie will share the game’s tongue-in-cheek humor. LEGO Batman 2 was the first LEGO game to use voice actors, which makes this transition smooth.
Both the Blu-ray and DVD versions of the movie will come with an exclusive Clark Kent LEGO minifigure, which features an open shirt with the Superman symbol underneath. The BD/DVD combo will also include a digital copy of the film.
