With Jurassic Park 4 slated for June 13, 2014, Universal Pictures is offering a remastered 3D take on the original.
Steven Spielberg is welcoming guests back to Jurassic Park for the 20th Anniversary of the landmark film. This time the remastered movie will be in 3D. IMAX theaters will play the new film the week of April 5. A Blu-ray 3D version of that film will be available on April 23. Universal Home Video is also releasing 2D versions of all three films as Blu-ray/DVD combo packs on March 26.
When it comes to 3D, Universal has committed to a June 13, 2014 opening for Jurassic Park 4. That movie will be filmed in 3D. A script is currently being written by Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver (Rise of the Planet of the Apes) and Spielberg and Frank Marshal are producing.
This opens up a new opportunity for video game makers. Telltale Games released an episodic series based on Jurassic Park a few years ago. And multiple games were released back when the original trilogy hit theaters.
