In the midst of the blood and gore of this season of Spartacus, is there a point where our heroes go too far? Actor Liam McIntyre discusses the grey areas of Sparatcus' conscience and hints that those moral decisions will shape the fate of our hero.

Calling Spartacus: War of the Damned a "bloodbath" would be a gross understatement. With it's epic battles and no shortage of Roman carnage, this final season of Spartacus finds it's characters soaking in blood and hankering for more. But as Spartacus' growing army of rebels wreaks havoc on Rome, it's not just the soldiers standing in the way of victory. The question arises: is there a line between the guilty and innocent - or is there no such thing as an innocent Roman? Liam McIntyre, Spartacus himself, discusses if there's ever a time where Spartacus says 'this is too far'.

"There will be many times. The Romans - and his own rebels - will make him look at what he's created and question whether or not it's okay what he's doing and what the people around him are doing on both sides. To tell you exactly how he decides that would be ruining the story.

The thing I like about Spartacus is that he isn't necessarily a cut and dry character. He's aware of the world around him, that it's not a pretty world. He has to take stock of what does he want, what's it for, and what is he prepared to sacrifice to get it. It's part of what makes his character so fascinating to me - because he's not always a good guy and the hero I like to think he is.  He will be tested more than he ever has been over what he is doing and why he is doing it. [As such], when he does fight the good fight, it's even more important."

Spartacus War of the Damned, airs on STARZ on January 25th.
