See how badass the Polk Hitman Headset is in the review!

I’ll start off this review with some minor backtracking. During this years Electronics and Entertainment Expo in Los Angeles, I was able to stop by the Polk Audio booth and check out the up-and-coming headsets/headphones that Polk has to offer. Fast-forward to November and I’ve received the Hitman Contract Edition Striker Pro Headset for a review so let’s get right into this!

The Striker Pro Headset comes in two forms, the one that works for the Xbox One and the Universal edition that works with everything else. The Striker Pro that I received for the review is the Universal edition that works for the PlayStation and Wii U, among other things.

By the looks of the box, you can tell that Polk and Square Enix did a good job in the team up to make this really feel like a Hitman Headset. The silver and black imaging on the box is a real nice touch!

When you take your headset out of the box, you can tell that organization is something Polk prides itself in. The headset should be simple for you to take out of the box and figure out how to hook up to whatever system you’re going to use it for. You can use it for PlayStation, Wii U, mobile, or on the computer. The idea of only needing one headset for all that is great to see. Players don’t like the idea of needing multiple adaptors or various headsets to use multiple consoles and Polk keeps it nice and simple.

Like I mentioned before, the headset, like the box is in silver and black and now you can throw some red in there. The Hitman headset is a limited edition and each one has the hitman serial number in the headphone. That way each one has the agent’s ID number branded on the inside. It also has a barcode on the adjustable headband for comfort and to look cool!

Comfort is key with something you could be wearing for long periods of time and the Striker Pro headset is very comfortable. It’s so comfortable that there will be times that you don’t even remember having it on. The fact that it’s light and does a great job cancelling sound will help that as well. There were times when things were going on in the same room as me and I didn’t notice because of how good a job the noise-cancelling headset was doing.

The microphone is removable and can be positioned where you feel comfortable. Where you like having the microphone is a different place altogether from your opponent, which is what Polk wants. They want to give you the option of customizing comfort! The Striker Pro is good at limiting crosstalk and static/sound issues so you can hear the smack talk between you and your opponent.

While I was playing Madden, I was able to place the microphone where I wanted it and didn’t have an issue talking trash to my opponent. The microphone Attenuator, which helps prevent chat distortion/sound distortion, makes it even easier to control volume. That simple control is right in your fingertips! The sound/music comes through the headset very clearly no matter what you’re listening to. You’ll be able to hear the bass/music the way the musicians intended through the Striker Pro Hitman headset.

I really only had one issue with the headset and that comes with slight sound issue. While I had the headset hooked up to my PlayStation 4 controller, I noticed that the sound wasn’t coming in clearly at all times. The reason might have been how I had the controller while playing/plug was loose, but I did have a similar issue with the Wii U console cable and how it was hooked up. The console cable might need to be shortened in the next headset variation since PS4/Wii U players keep their controller close to their body while playing. It was just a minor issue that doesn’t hinder the Striker Pro Hitman Headset, it’s just something to keep an eye out for while playing and so you don’t yank out the cable while playing.

To recap, the Striker Pro Hitman Contract Edition headset from Polk Audio pays homage to the Hitman fans. The serial number in the headphone and the bar code on the headband really make you feel like a Hitman. It sounds and looks fantastic and allows for everyone to hear the trash talk while you’re playing online games. I love seeing the Wii U getting in on the headset fun because most times, the Wii U gets left out in the cold! However, the console cable might be too long as it was hindering volume control on the PS4/Wii U while playing but that’s just something to look out for.

It’s these reasons that I’m giving the Striker Pro Hitman Contract Edition Headset a 9.5/10.

I would like to thank Polk Audio for the reviewable Headset.
