Does this newest endless runner fly above the rest? Find out in our review.

The endless runner has become one of the most cloned genres in mobile gaming. Ever since Temple Run, developers have attempted to create their own unique spin on the popular genre. The problem that many developers have faced is how to make the genre appealing to those who may already have Temple Run, Hopptee, or any other endless runner on their platform. Funday Factory wants to replace your current endless runner with Butterfly Sky. Does this endless runner have wings or is it a Temple Run rip off? Find out in our review!

Once Butterfly Sky is loaded, the controls are similar to other platformers and endless runners that you have played in the past. The touch controls work well and are very simple to learn. You press and hold the screen to fall faster to ensure you land on a cloud. Some clouds are hiding launch pads that will send you flying into the air. There are also multipliers and power ups that allow you to continue bouncing until the end. The game is simple to play and when you do fall, it is normally due to fault of your own. This is the same simple gameplay that you are use to from endless runners. So what sets Butterfly Sky apart?

Unlike Temple Run, Butterfly Sky features bright cartoonish visuals and different levels. One problem of the endless runner genre is its lack of variety in the environment and gameplay. While the gameplay is still similar, the environments in Butterfly Sky are different and unique. Being able to actually advance to 4 different levels gives you something new to look forward to. In a genre that is often held back by it’s own repetitive nature, this is a true compliment.

Butterfly Game is a great casual endless runner with great music. The game is bright and unique and very fun to play. The controls are easy to learn and allow you to focus on the experience of the game. The simple nature of the genre itself has begun to become repetitive and boring. The game features the typical in app purchases and ads that pop up in between playing that ruin the experience. While Butterfly Sky is fun, it did not bring enough to the genre to conquer its pitfalls.  Butterfly Sky is a fun distraction, but not the game that you will be craving to play or event the game you will remember after it is long deleted from your mobile device.
