Take a tour of the PDP booth at this years E3
The Electronics and Entertainment Expo is all about the new, up-and-coming electronics and video games hitting store shelves in the near future. Performance Designed Products or PDP has this mantra down in spades with their revealed plan this week. Lets get right into the PDP booth recap!
PDP was able to get convention-goers into their booth by showing off Rock Band Rivals. PDP is coming out with new guitars and drum peripherals for the game that will be easier to charge. The guitar will even have the ability to fold up for easier storage and it will have a stand that will allow the guitar easy charging. It will be interesting to see if Rock Band Rivals will get the franchise back into the limelight!
The bread and butter for PDP is headsets, controllers, and keyboards and all of those were shown at this years E3. Rock Candy is a colored keyboard/mouse combo that is a durable option. It has wireless range and it is washable. Spill something on the keyboard and you can just wash it off! That is something that every company that makes keyboards should figure out.
Next up for PDP was the Afterglow headsets and controllers. They come in a level system where level one is just for talking. Level 3 is for both talking and gameplay and level 5 is the full blown model, with volume controls on the side. There were different variations of the headsets in the booth in different colors and minor design alterations. Afterglow users can download the app for their Xbox Ones and set their preferences for the controller, like what colors they want on it and how strong they want the rumble feature.
Now for my favorite part of the tour, seeing National Football League Xbox One controller covers. You get the pigskin cover otherwise known as “The Duke” controller cover. For those who don’t know, the Duke is the unofficial name for the footballs used by the NFL. That’s your history lesson for the week and you better have enjoyed it!
You can buy the Duke cover which comes with a controller and then you get a redeemable code for your favorite NFL team’s controller cover. The league hasn’t approved the artwork for the controller covers yet so that’s still in the NFL review stage. This is a good option for fans so they don’t have to buy both covers which is something companies usually make the consumer do!
Lastly, PDP’s booth had their products they have partnerships in the industry with. They had their Amiibo displays for Nintendo and I have to say, the Donkey Kong tower display and the Legend of Zelda Master Sword Amiibo display look fantastic. There was also one with the Fire ball rod spinning which shows me that PDP did their home work on these.
They also had controller changers for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on display as well as the official headset for Scalebound. The character in Scalebound wears the same exact headset that was on display because PDP developed it for the game. Combine this with the product lines for Mirror’s Edge: Catalyst, Battlefield 1, and Titanfall 2 and Performance Designed Products has set itself up for a nice future! All they have to do is send me those Amiibo displays and everything else will take cake of itself.
