Wargaming announces Open Beta weekend and presence at PlayStationExperience

Wargaming today announced the free-to-play multiplayer game World of Tanks on PlayStation4 will offer a three-day Open Beta, running December 4–6. The Open Beta coincides with the PlayStation  Experience weekend, taking place December 5 and 6 at the Moscone Center in San Francisco, CA. Event attendees can play World of Tanks on PlayStation 4 for the first time in North America at Wargaming booth #1200.

Exclusive in-game items await those taking part in the three day Beta event. All players who login during the Beta period will receive a PlayStation 20th anniversary exclusive M22 Locust US light tank, adorned in a tribute PlayStation grey color scheme honoring the original PlayStation along with a special emblem. Pre-Release bundles will become available in the PlayStation Store which include a free T1E6-PS US Premium light tank with exclusive camouflage and four Founder’s Packs with special Premium tanks available for a limited time.

World of Tanks on PlayStation4 continues Wargaming’s multi-platform expansion by delivering an array of new features to the battlefield. The game will support key platform features including complete DUALSHOCK 4 functionality, Share Play and PlayStation Vita Remote Play, along with optimized controls designed to elevate the handheld experience. Two limited time exclusive maps will also be making their PlayStation4 debut during Beta: “Ruinberg”, and “Scorpion Pass”, the largest World of Tanks map to date.

“Wargaming is excited to be working with Sony to bring World of Tanks to a new audience with PlayStation4,” said TJ Wagner, Executive Producer at Wargaming. “The platform allows us to develop World of Tanks like never before with custom features and functionality such as PlayStationVita Remote Play, and we are thrilled to start rolling the game out to Sony tankers worldwide.”

World of Tanks on PlayStation4 is free to all PlayStation accounts and does not require a PlayStationPlus membership to play.
