See what the folks at Square Enix have done with their baby, Deus Ex: Mankind Divided
I wasn’t able to schedule a playable demo of Deus Ex: Mankind Divided from Square Enix but I was able to get into one of the theater presentations they were having and the game looks pretty good.
I don’t want to go into the story since I feel the only way to do it justice is see it and hear it in person. What I did take away from the presentation is that the graphics in the game look fantastic and why shouldn’t a next generation game in HD look great? The voice acting, sounded like Steve Blum for one of the characters, was spot on as well. If he is one of the voices then why wouldn’t the presentation be good?
One of the main themes of the game appears to be being able to play it anyway you want. What that means is there could be multiple ways to do something. During the video, Adam, the player’s character, needs to get out of the ARC facility and there are quite a few ways to do that. He can go out the window, he could go out the air shaft, or he can find a totally new way out. It’s totally up to you how you want to solve a problem!
Exploration and new attacks/abilities was another theme of the theater presentation. You might be able to look through emails to find someone you can connect with later on in the game or somehow you can get some money to solve a new problem. New weapons like the Tesla Arm, a non lethal attack that can target up to 4 targets to “shock” them and the Icarus Dash, a midair jump, add to the play anyway you want aspect to the game! You’ll also be able to remotely hack into security systems, for examples but there could be new traps in the hacking programs as well.
There was one final piece of interesting information and that came in the form of Focus mode. Focus mode is where Adam, the main character of the game, speeds up and everything else around him goes into a slowed down state. That way he can perform so many more tasks in less time! Be on the look out for Deus Ex: Mankind Divided when it’s scheduled to release in 2016!
