Revival of World Championships part of the E3 festivities.
Fans of Nintendo from the early 1990’s know that Nintendo brought the World Championships to the masses and had players compete to be the world’s best. It took Nintendo 25 years to do it but they finally brought the world championships back and players will get the change to compete to be the best. I was three years old in 1990 and now I’m ready to show that I have the skill and the talent to be the best. The best players will get an invite to California to compete in the world championships at E3. Select Best Buy locations will have “prelims” to decide who qualifies for California. Maybe the winner will get a gold Mario Amiibo trophy because lets face it, not too many people got their hands on it!
In non-World Championship news, Nintendo will once again forgo a press conference and go for the digital reveal online like in years past. 9Am Pacific time is the time to tune in to see all the reveals online and who knows what surprise reveals we could get this year? The Nintendo Tree house gang will be on the E3 show floor again this year complete with developer commentary and Nintendo insight. Mario Maker will be shown off at Best Buy locations this year like Super Smash Brothers was in the past. During E3 week, fans will be able to go to Best Buy and test drive Mario Maker and receive a Mario Maker pin while supplies last so if you want one, get there early.( 4-9PM on June 17th and Noon to 5Pm on June 20th)
It looks like Nintendo is going all-in for E3 again this year, with the World Championships as well as Star Fox for Wii U.( presuming we get to see it) Only time will tell what else comes to the foreground for Nintendo!
