New courses, karts, and characters join the Mushroom Kingdom Racing Association
Downloadable content is finally coming to Mario Kart 8 in the way of new characters, courses and karts. Two download packs will be available over time( Fall 2014/Spring 2015) will add a lot of gameplay to the MK8 universe. You’ll be able to buy each pack for 8 dollars or both for 12 dollars. In the first pack, Tanooki Mario, Cat Peach, and Link of Zelda fame will be downloadable and the Villager and Isabelle from Animal Crossing and Dry Bowser will be DLC.
In addition to the new DLC, the already known DLC for the Mercedes Benz karts starts Aug 27th so players will be able to use one of the three Mercedes karts in game play. There will be 16 new/retro courses added to the mix as each download adds 8 courses. Courses like Wario’s Gold Mine will return as well as new courses based on the Legend of Zelda and Animal Crossing. Karts like the Blue Falcon kart will be in the first DLC which gets F-Zero into the Mario Kart mix. Starting Aug. 27th( today) players who buy both packs will get access to 8 multi-color Yoshi and Shy Guys right away. To purchase the packs in advance, users with a broadband Internet connection can click the new “Shop” icon in the game or visit the Nintendo eShop on Wii U.
