Celebrate the new year in style with the Times Square Ball App.

New years will be here before you know it and to get in on all the fun, you can download the official Times Square Ball App for Android and Apple devices. The app has increased in popularity since it was created a few years ago. The app can be used to upload pictures from the ball dropping as well as your spot for all the party information.

You will be able to watch the events commercial free, which is a great idea because no one likes commercial breaks. You’ll be able to see the ball being raised at the start of the night to nightly musical acts for your viewing pleasure. You’ll also be able to post pictures for people to vote on and the most popular pictures get on the Toshiba Vision sign at Times Square. You can also send personalized greeting cards with the pictures you took using the app.

“The app gives revelers around the world the chance to experience the action and excitement of New Year’s Eve in Times Square, capturing the infectious energy of the live performances and crowds as well as the magic of the Ball Drop and tons of wishfetti that descends on Times Square at midnight,” said Tim Tompkins, president of the Times Square Alliance. The app is another way for people to get their new year’s information and more apps should do things like this. Now if only they could add how bad traffic into New York City was going to be New Year’s night or what roads were closed and then we would be in business.
