Mario Kart 8 and Klonoa highlight the downloads this week
This week starts a make or break period for Nintendo and the Wii U. Mario Kart 8 launches on the eShop and in stores and will be the start for what Nintendo hopes is a big turn around. Without further delay, let’s get right into it as we have a lot to get to.
In the lead position this week is Mario Kart 8 and from the initial reactions online, Nintendo has a real winner on their hands. Drive upside down and up/down walls as you try to be the best the Mushroom Kingdom has ever seen. Newcomers like the Koopalings will try and stand in your way but new power-ups will be your trump card. You’ll be able to show off your races on the Mario Kart TV application and race the best the world has to offer in online mode.
The Wii U eShop sees Klonoa: Empire of Dreams come to the online Nintendo shop. Emperor Jillius has the lost the ability to go to sleep and passes a law that bans the townspeople from dreaming. Klonoa is put on trial for “dreaming of adventure” and must defeat the four monsters that are tormenting the lands. This game plays like a classic platforming game with 40 levels to master. The game will set you back 7 bucks but fans of classic platforming games will want to look at it.
Like almost every week on the eShop, there are special deals and discounts and this week is no different. You’ll be able to get a code for one of four games when you register Mario Kart 8 on Club Nintendo between May 30th 12Am and July 31st11:59Pm The games are New Super Mario Bros U, Pikmin 3, Legend of Zelda: The Windwaker HD, and Wii Party U. Also this week, Pushmo and Crashmo are 33% off and there are new 10 dollar Nintendo point cards that come with the Photos With Mario 3DS application. You can take pictures with Mario, Princess Toadstool, or a Goomba.
Also available this week: Ittle Dew (Wii U eShop), Mega Man Xtreme 2(3DS V.C.), Gravity Badgers (Wii U eShop), and Luv Me Buddies Wonderland (Wii U eShop). Enjoy the games everyone!
