Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze has been just what Nintendo wanted and needed it to be in terms of sale numbers. The game sold more than 130,000 units, physically and digitally, in the first 8 days it was available to the masses. It wasn’t just about Donkey Kong; Bravely Default sold more than 200,000 units in the first 3 weeks available to the public. The two games mentioned finished 2nd and 4th respectively in terms of sale numbers for February. The 3DS doesn’t show any sign of slowing down in its dominance of the handheld market. Pokemon and Bravely Default already are selling well and Yoshi’s New Island, Disney Magical World, Mario Golf: World Tour, and Kirby: Triple Deluxe coming out soon Nintendo looks to be just fine. Mario Kart 8 for Wii U and Smash Brothers for both 3DS/Wii U won’t hurt the sale numbers either.
