The Kong family is back, this time to deal with the Snowmad Vikings.
February 21st can’t come soon enough for fans of the big ape himself, Donkey Kong, and the newest Donkey Kong Country game. Online leaderboards and stunning HD graphics are just the tip of the iceberg for DK’s newest adventure. Dixie Kong and Cranky Kong return to the fold as playable Kongs, each with their own set of skills like Dixie being able to hover with her pony-tail.
“The games in the Donkey Kong Country series have always entertained audiences of all ages and skill levels with their breathtaking visuals and fun and challenging game play,” said Scott Moffitt, Nintendo of America’s executive vice president of Sales & Marketing. “Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze continues this rich legacy with a memorable adventure that’s only available on Wii U.”
The Snowmad Vikings have taken over Kong Island and it’s up to Donkey Kong to save the day, again! Classic DKC game play elements return like the K-O-N-G letters to collect and the blast barrels to shoot into. Funky Kong and Rambi the Rhino return to give DK a helping hand. David Wise, who composed the original DKC music for the SNES is a welcome sight to a franchise that has never looked and sounded better.
