The original Mario Bros. Arcade game and The Legend of Zelda: A Link To The Past highlight the downloads this week.

With the Nintendo eShop updating itself today, you would think that Nintendo is trying to compete with the Super Bowl this weekend for your free time. Along with the Mario Bros Arcade game and A Link To the Past, arguably the best Zelda game in the franchise, there are other games/promos that will make this weekend pretty fun.

In the classic Mario Bros. Arcade game, find out how Mario and Luigi get their start as plumbers deep in the sewers. Hit the various enemies from underneath and then kick them to the curb and collect the coins. With all the vermin in the sewers, I’m glad Mario and Luigi are down there taking care of them and not me.

One of the best games on the Super Nintendo is available this week for download and that game is my personal favorite in the Zelda franchise, A Link To The Past. Agahnim, the evil wizard, is kidnapping the seven descendants of the ancient Wise Men and of course Zelda is one of those victims. Agahnim wants to break the ancient seal that has been keeping Ganon trapped all these years. Long story short, Link (or Steve, as I call him) must travel between the light world and the dark to rescue the maidens and save Hyrule. Fans of the recently released A Link Between Worlds will not want to pass up the chance to play the game that inspired the 3DS game. Also available this week is the full version of Wii Fit U and Castle Clout 3D.

If you’ve been following the eShop updates, then games going on sale shouldn’t surprise you by this point. There is going to be a Super Indie sale, where 5 games will be part of the special sale. If you own/bought one of the five games at full price, then you can get 60 % off all of the other games. Spin the Bottle: Bumpie's Party, Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams, Mighty Switch Force! Hyper Drive Edition, Toki Tori 2+ or BIT.TRIP Presents... Runner2: Future Legend of Rhythm Alien. The sale runs from Jan.30th to Feb. 13th. Also on sale is Ohno Odyssey, a game that takes skill and gravity manipulation to get the Ohno aliens through each stage. You can get the game today until Feb. 20th for 4 bucks.
