Battlefield 4 players are reporting that their free China Rising DLC isn't making the jump from PS3 to PS4.
The long list of problems affecting EA’s and DICE’s latest shooter Battlefield 4 continues to grow as many users are now reporting that the free China Rising expansion they received for becoming a Battlefield 4 Premium Member isn’t transferring over when they upgrade from the PlayStation 3 version of the game to the PlayStation 4 version.
The exact specifics of what is happening are a bit tricky; according to EA, players who either paid for the Battlefield 4 Premium service *or* pre-ordered a next-gen version of Battlefield 4 would receive the China Rising expansion for free. However, it would seem that those who got China Rising by becoming Premium members while playing on the PlayStation 3 are not able to transfer China Rising over to the PlayStation 4 version unless they pay the expansion’s full price tag ($14.99) a second time.
Since, like many other cross-generation titles, Battlefield 4 can be upgraded from current-gen to next-gen for a mere $10 fee, many players are naturally irked that they now have to pay for an expansion they originally got for free simply for making the jump from current to next-gen consoles. There’s no word yet on whether the same issue is affecting Premium members making the jump from Xbox 360 to Xbox One or if this was intended or merely another hiccup on EA’s end, but either way it is still yet another frustrating hurdle for Battlefield 4 players to jump through.
