Game studio Terminal Reality has officially shut down as of today.
It’s always a sad day when a game studio has to shut down and the latest victim of such happenings is developer Terminal Reality, the studio behind the cult-classic BloodRayne series as well as less-successful endeavors such as Kinect Star Wars and The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct.
According to a Facebook post from Terminal Reality developer Jesse Sosa, who has been with the studio for ten years, Terminal Reality is officially no more as of today which, while disappointing, isn’t that big of a surprise for Sosa who also revealed that things at the studio were “going downhill.” Before it was closed down, Terminal Reality was rumored to be working on both a new unannounced game as well as an original game engine.
Sosa’s “going downhill” comment was, as hard as it is to say, a bit of an understatement since both Kinect Star Wars and The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct were met with near-universal panning from critics which was no-doubt an especially hard loss to recuperate from considering the amount of marketing and hype-building Terminal Reality devoted to both games.
Best wishes to those who lost their jobs today including Sosa, here’s hoping all the potential and talent the studio possessed will not go unnoticed by other game developers who are searching for a few new members to add to their team.
