This week signals the start of the Christmas season for Nintendo!
Today is Thursday but in Nintendo circles, it will be “Zelda/Mario-eve” even though you can tell I didn’t spend all day thinking of that but moving on. You’ll be able to get your hands on The Legend of Zelda: Link Between Worlds, Mario Party: Island Tour, and Super Mario 3D World in digital form at midnight tonight. These aren’t the only games coming out this week but they will be the most talked about ones but even the little guy deserves a little attention.
If you can pull yourself away from A Link Between Worlds or Super Mario 3D world, and trust me, that will be a difficult task to do but if you can the eShop has you covered with even more great games. For starters, Edge, from Two Tribes Gaming, is a platformer that has its roots soaked in retro goodness. You control a cube trying to get through each stage and cutting valuable seconds off your time. You’ll be able to play off the TV on the Game Pad and there are over 100 levels to run through. There is also Downloadable content available for Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney: Dual Destinies in the form of a special episode. In this special episode, you’ll come face to face with Sasha Buckler, a new client at the Shipshape Aquarium, as well as the “Killer” killer whale. You’ll just have to download the episode to see how your master courtroom skills will be put to the test.
The Wii U Virtual Console gets in on the fun this week with Brawl Brothers, a classic side scrolling beat em up. For “Hack” and Slash” the only thing that matters is saving their kidnapped friends from an evil cloning experiment. Use your wits and whatever you can find and like the Hulk, when they get mad, well you wouldn’t like them if they get mad. (could have said Angry, but the Hulk might come looking for me if he sees me using his catch-phrase)For an old school beat em up, 8 bucks is a descent price and looks like a fun time.
This week is also the next installment of the “Your Favorite Gaming Friends” eShop discount series. If Mario and Link weren’t enough to make this possibly the best week in Nintendo history, now you can get classic Mega Man games at a discounted price. Fans of the Blue Bomber will be able to get Mega Man 1-4 on Wii U and 3DS for a 30% discount. I’m just gonna go ahead and call this week the best week Nintendo has had in years!
Also available for download this week: Crazy Coaster Deluxe( Wii U eShop), The Mysterious Cities of Gold: Secret Paths( Wii U eShop), City Connection( 3DS V.C.), Christmas Wonderland 3( 3DS eShop), Jewel Match 3( 3DS eShop), Ohno Odyssey( 3DS eShop), and Hands On! Tangrams. (Dsiware)Enjoy the games everyone!
