The Beach Bum update for Grand Theft Auto Online is now live on Xbox 360 and should be available on PlayStation 3 later today.
The new “Beach Bum” update to Grand Theft Auto V’s online multiplayer component is now live on Xbox 360 with the PlayStation 3 version deploying within the next few hours according to Rockstar.
The update (which is also known as title update 1.06) should be downloaded automatically the next time players boot up the game. In addition to a number of bug fixes, the update also comes with a bunch of new beach-themed vehicles, jobs, and clothing/hair/tattoo options as well as two new weapons: the SNS combat pistol and broken bottle melee weapon.
The new vehicles include the BF Bifta dune buggy, the Canis Kalahari off-road truck, the Bravado Paradise beach camper van, and the Speeder speedboat (which some GTA fans might recognize from the portable game Grand Theft Auto: China Wars). Both the new weapons and vehicles will also be available in the single-player story mode as well.
Along with the Beach Bum update, Rockstar also hinted at future updates to the game’s single-player story which will likely take the form of DLC story expansions. However, before that happens, online players still have the upcoming content creator to look forward to which will allow them to create their own custom jobs and races.
The Beach Bum update for Grand Theft Auto Online should be available now for Xbox 360 and should be available on PlayStation 3 by the end of the day.
