Could a possible backdoor deal between EA and Zuffa occured behind THQ's back?
New allegations have surfaced with THQ apparently suing Zuffa LLC and Electronic Arts over the transfer of the UFC game license. Publishers had several discussions in December 2011 to discuss the sale of the UFC license to EA according to documents that were filed in a Delaware district court. The interesting point came during one 'high level meeting' that were shown marketing projections and sales date of the UFC video game with a help of internal financial information.
THQ believes that Zuffa tried terminating their license with the company at the end of 2011 due to holding information that could have only been supplied by EA that came during earlier negotiations. THQ claims this is proof and enough evidence that EA talked with Zuffa and went directly to them to arrange a direct sale, only benefiting EA on behalf of THQ.
More of this can be read at GamesIndustry which goes more into depth of how much THQ is claiming the UFC license is worth at the moment along with solid information.
