Certain retailers have already slashed the price for the PlayStation Vita in anticipation of Sony's Gamescom conference.
Price cuts for Sony’s handheld gaming system have already begun at several major retailers in anticipation of an announcement at the PlayStation Gamescom conference.
With PlayStation’s Gamescom conference mere hours away, major retail outlets like Target and Amazon have slashed the Vita’s price by $50, marking it down to $199.99 from its usual $249.99 price. Other retailers like Best Buy still have it at its standard price but whether or not it stays that way after Sony’s conference is a tough call to make.
These price cuts seem prudent in the wake of rumors that Sony not only plans to cut the Vita’s price globally, but that they’re also planning to debut an entirely redesigned Vita the offers a bigger screen and more RAM. We’ll have to wait until the conference kicks off to find out just what Sony has up their sleeves but in the meantime you can grab a Vita from certain outlets for a noticeably smaller price.
