If a newly leaked image is to be believed, Sony might be getting ready to cut the PlayStation Vita's price by nearly half.
A recent discovery on the PlayStation Asia Flickr website may be heralding a rather large price drop for Sony’s handheld gaming console.
A NeoGAF user managed to snap a pic from the Flickr site which shows a PlayStation Vita being listed at HDK $1280 which translates roughly to about $165 in U.S. currency. For those who want to know the exact math, that marks a 45% decrease down from the standard price; a very enticing prospect for those who are interested in the Vita but have yet to purchase one.
The leaked image comes from the upcoming Hong Kong Computer & Communications Festival which is set to take place between August 23rd and August 26th. Since the festival is being held after next week’s Gamescom conference, many fans are hopeful that Sony will be announcing a similar price-cut for the Vita in the States.
For now all we have to go off of is the image above but hopefully Sony will have some good news for potential Vita owners at Gamescom next week.
