Rumors about a PC port of Grand Theft Auto V have been swirling about for a while now. But now Nvidia may have just given some serious weight to those rumors.

GTA fans have been clamoring for any news regarding an eventual PC release for the highly anticipated Grand Theft Auto V which has already been confirmed for both current and next-gen consoles. According to a new statement from PC graphics developer Nvidia, fans won’t have to wait long before they can explore all of GTA V’s open world from the comfort of their PC.

During a recent earnings call, Senior IR Director of Nvidia Chris Evenden made the following announcement:

“The PC market is evolving. As entry level laptops face pressure from tablets. Yet sales of specialty PCs like gaming systems and work stations continue to grow. The disparity reflects how consumers use these different classes of PCs. Many consumers look for PC as a general purpose device they can use for browsing, email, social media video. But much of this can be better served by a tablet. In contrast, gamers are preparing their systems for a strong roster of games coming this fall, including blockbuster franchises, such as Call of Duty: Ghosts, Grand Theft Auto V and Assassin's Creed IV.”

Evenden may have just been rattling off some popular buzz-word titles, but his statement also happens to coincide rather nicely with the fact that GTA V developer Rockstar put up a job listing for creating PC ports of their games last month. As always, it’s important to remember that Rockstar has yet to confirm or deny the existence of a PC port for GTA V but, for now at least, the prospects seem pretty promising.
