According to Xbox.com, Xbox One players will be able to decide between a retail or digital purchase immidiatly upon a given game's release day.
While Microsoft may be facing a little flak this week over locking the Xbox One’s Game DVR game recording service behind their Xbox Live Gold paywall, they did have some good news for fans who are hoping to purchase their Xbox One games digitally.
According to a tweet posted by Xbox.com’s official Twitter account, Every new Xbox One game that is released will be available as a digital download on its release day:
@its_Rehab_Time_ All Xbox One titles will be available as digital downloads the day they are released. Provided the console is ALSO out. ;)

This is undoubtedly great news for Xbox fans who prefer not to deal with the hassle of going out to a store to buy their games or who don’t want to risk scratching or losing their game discs. The one caveat is that digital games don’t tend to have their prices lowered after a set amount of time much like retail disc games do unless there’s a major sale or promotion going on but it can’t be denied that having the convenience of a digital purchase right on a game’s release day will be a welcome perk for many players.
