Fans of Android-based gaming should keep their eyes on Amazon over the next few months as the retailer is supposedly releasing their own Android gaming console by the end of this year.
Online mega-retailer Amazon.com has been allowing users to buy, sell, and even directly download games for a while now. But if a new report is to be believed, the company may be developing its very own Android-based gaming console and they’re planning on releasing said console a lot sooner than you may think.
Not much is known about Amazon’s console other than that it will be Android-based and will have its own dedicated controller. Amazon will naturally be offering games and other apps already available on its website and will even be offering a different app or game for free every day to help players try before they buy.
Considering the healthy amount of Android-compatible games and apps already out there, it’s going to be interesting to see what new surprises Amazon brings to the Android gaming market. Amazon has promised that the console will be ready for release by the end of 2013 with many speculating the console’s debut will be around the time of Black Friday.
