If you were hoping to transfer your Xbox 360 friends list to the Xbox One, Microsoft has some bad news for you.
Microsoft has confirmed that players won’t be able to import their Xbox 360 friends list to the Xbox One and that the planned increase for the current friends list limit will only apply to their next-gen console.

Both of these limitations were confirmed by Xbox Support via Twitter earlier today:
This comes as especially bad news for Xbox 360 users who happen to have a lot of online friends as they will neither be able to add as many as they could on Xbox One nor will they be able to simply export all of their existing friends from one console to another, instead having to re-send each friend request manually.
Of course, if Microsoft’s recent trend of reversing their stance on issues such as indie development, always-online requirements, and used games DRM is any guide, the current friends list limitations might not be around when the Xbox One launches later this year.
