UK gamers now know how much they'll have to save up in order to get their hands on new Xbox One titles when the console launches later this year.
The Recommended Retail Price (RRP) for Xbox One games in the UK has officially been announced by Microsoft, sitting at a cool £49.99.
Several games such as Dead Rising 3, Ryse: Son of Rome, Kinect Sports Rivals, and Forza Motorsport 5 have been listed on the official Microsoft store under the new UK price and more will surely follow on the near future.
The £49.99 price point announcement follows closely on the heels of last month’s $59.99 announcement for Xbox One games in North America (putting to bed any rumors of a next-gen price-hike). It’s important to remember that these price points aren’t set in stone (hence the word “Recommended”) and several retailers have already begun undercutting Microsoft; the Xbox One port of Need for Speed Rivals is currently listed on Amazon’s UK website at £43.99.
No word from Sony yet on how much PlayStation 4 games will be priced for across the pond but considering the company’s similar confirmation of a $59.99 price point for games in the States, it seems reasonable to surmise they’ll be following in a similar vein as Microsoft before long.
