The North American release of Dead or Alive 5 Ultimate is aiming to pack a punch when it's released later this year.

Tecmo Koei has revealed a whole heap of new info regarding the upcoming North American release of Dead or Alive 5 Ultimate; the updated and expanded version of the previously released Dead or Alive 5, and they’ve packed it all into a new trailer.

Some of the new info we already know. Several new characters who weren’t included in the standard version of DoA5 will be entering the fray such as Ninja Gaiden’s Momiji and Rachel, Virtua Fighter’s Jacky Bryant, and DoA favorites Ein and Leon.

These new additions will allow for several new tag-teams featuring their own signature tag-attacks such as Jacky with his sister Sarah (returning from the original DoA5), Ein with Hitomi (both Karate practitioners), Ryu Hayabusa (Ninja Gaiden’s protagonist) with Rachel/Momiji, Leon with Bayman (similar fighting styles), and Jacky with Jann Lee (both Jeet Kune Do practitioners).

Team Fight Mode, which allows the player to form a team of several fighters and duke it out against an opposing team, will be returning as will Survival Mode items, improved training and tutorial modes, and over 1,000 titles for the player to earn and unlock.

Three different “teams” of pre-order costume sets will be available from specific retailers and, in true DoA fashion, they’ll consist of various revealing outfits for the game’s leading ladies. Team A will include “bad girl” costumes for Helena, Lisa, Momiji, Rachel, Sarah, and Tina; Team O will add schoolgirl costumes for Hitomi, Kokoro, Leifang, and Mila, and Team D will unlock J-POP costumes for Ayane and Kasumi.

Check out the action-packed trailer above and click through to the following page for a bullet-point rundown of some of the game’s other planned features.
