Legendary Entertainment showed a teaser trailer for the video game movie, which will be directed by Duncan Jones.
Godzilla isn’t the only big movie coming from Legendary Entertainment. The studio, which is also developing Mass Effect into a feature, will begin filming Warcraft in early 2014. Director Duncan Jones (Moon) showed a teaser for the new film at San Diego Comic Con 2013. Charles Leavitt (Blood Diamond) wrote the script for the new movie, which is reported to have a budget of over $100 million.
If the audience reaction is anything to gauge interest in this movie, Legendary has another hit on its hands. While World of Warcraft has been losing subscribers, it’s still the largest subscription MMO game in the world today. The trailer features a human warrior preparing to battle against a giant orc. The director, who was introduced by Legendary CEO Thomas Tull, said the MMO is very addictive and that he’s a big fan of the franchise.
