Pikmin fans will be happy to hear the Captain Olimar is returning for the newest Super Smash Bros. game.
Pikmin’s lovable protagonist Captain Olimar is once again entering the Super Smash Bros. fray in the upcoming Wii U/3DS entry.
Olimar made his Smash debut in the series’ most recent entry; the Wii’s Super Smash Bros. Brawl and with the impending release of Pikmin 3, now seems as appropriate a time as ever to unveil him for this new upcoming Smash game. It probably wouldn’t be too far-fetched to imagine that some of Olimar’s new moves and attacks will be inspired by the new Pikmin he will encounter in Pikman 3 and it looks like the game will also boast an entire Pikmin stage to help Olimar and his Pikmin buddies feel right at home.
Captain Olimar is joining returning Smash vets Mario, Donkey Kong, Pikachu, Link, Samus, Kirby, Bowser, Fox, and Pit as well as newcomers Mega Man, Animal Crossing’s Villager, and the Wii Fit trainer. Stay tuned in the coming months as more characters, both new and old, are announced.
