The free-to-play game's micro-transactions can now be purchased without a credit card.

Meteor Entertainment, publisher of the free-to-play mech first-person shooter HAWKEN, now supports Rixty, a global leading cash-based alternative payment platform for online games, virtual goods and digital content. Rixty consumers can pay online without a credit card and without exposing confidential information. By partnering with Rixty, HAWKEN players can access a form of payment that is available in more than 500,000 retail locations throughout the world.

“Meteor is all about accessibility, from establishing HAWKEN as a AAA free-to-play title, to refining the game to be compelling and intuitive. Rixty gives HAWKEN gamers a convenient and safe way to invest in their ultimate mech machines and engage in the HAWKEN world,” said Mark Long, CEO of Meteor Entertainment.

Rixty has grown its physical point-of-sale locations year-over-year by 88%, and currently provides over 75,000 cash payment locations across the United States and 66,000 payment locations throughout Brazil. As part of the MOL family of companies, Rixty enables game publishers to monetize players in 360,000 additional payment channels across Asia Pacific through one simple interface.

“By leveraging Rixty, HAWKEN gamers have the ability to purchase in-game currency at their favorite retail locations and without the worry of exposing their confidential credit card information,” says Ted Sorom, CEO of Rixty, Inc. “This partnership helps us showcase the reach and security of Rixty while helping online titles like HAWKEN flourish.”

Meteor Entertainment joins over 80 game publishers already working with Rixty to reach and further monetize games among millions of online players worldwide. Gamers can join the battle today at www.playhawken.com.
