A new trailer on Sony's official TouTube page shows off some of the PlayStation 4's interface functionality.

Sony is keeping the post-E3 hype for PlayStation 4 high by releasing a new video that showcases the PS4’s interface and some of the things players will be able to do with it.

The video shows off some of the console’s social and technical features and also explains some of the cool ways through which players will be able to purchase and play games and share their gameplay videos across multiple devices.

The main interface page puts you and your friends front and center. You can check up on what your friends are currently playing and what they’ve recently purchased on the PSN Store and you can even “like” their activities much like you can in other social platforms like Facebook. Sony has also confirmed that you can choose to appear as your PSN ID to strangers and as your real name to your friends.

Whenever your friends share a video, you can pause whatever game you’re currently playing to watch the video. When the video finishes, you’ll have the option to press an on-screen “start” command to begin playing that very game (if you own it) or you can just close the video and resume the game you were playing before. If you don’t happen to be near your PS4 when a friend shares a video, you can still watch the video right on your phone.

You can also use your phone to purchase PSN games and queue them for download on your PS4 and you can continue playing one game while you download another. If you’re more interested in a game’s single-player or multiplayer component, you can choose (for some games) which you’d like to download first.

Lastly, players will be able to form “clans” with their PSN friends up to 18 people; allowing them to stay together even across multiple games. Built-in predictive text messaging using the controller will allow players to communicate quickly even without a mic and a new multiplayer session window will show up-to-date information on who’s in the current session and how long that session has been going on.

You can check out all the features in action in the trailer above and stay tuned for more PlayStation 4 details in the near future.
