Nintendo revealed during the E3 showcase that they're working on a new Wii U game alongside developer Monolith Soft.
During the Nintendo Direct E3 showcase, Nintendo President Satoru Iwata announced that Nintendo is once again working with developer Monolith Soft to create a brand new game for the Wii U console.
Judging from the brief trailer that accompanied the announcement, the mysterious game, known only as “X”, appears to be an open-world sci-fi/fantasy action-adventure game in the vein of Final Fantasy or Phantasy Star Online. It will feature real-time exploration and combat with both humanoid player characters and large mech suits that the player can enter and fly around in. “X” seems to be an appropriate title considering Monolith Soft’s previous title Xenoblade Chronicles which was a hit when it released on the original Wii back in 2010.
The game is set for a 2014 release date but in the meantime fans who want to learn more about “X” will just have to be a little bit patient.
