To close out this year's Pre-E3 show, Konami revealed some exciting new details and a new trailer for Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2.
Konami ended this year’s Pre-E3 show by revealing a few new details about their upcoming sequel Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 and even gave fans an advanced look at the game’s E3 trailer.
Lords of Shadow 2 picks up pretty much right where the first game left off. Gabriel Belmont (now Dracula) must team up with his traitorous companion Zobek in order to stop the resurrection of Satan all while fighting off other demonic and angelic forces who are eager to eradicate the newly-arisen vampire lord.
To help fight these forces, Dracula has three new weapons at his disposal: a pair of fiery claw-gauntlets aptly named “Chaos Claws”, the elegant yet deadly “Void Sword”, and the “Blood Whip” which appears to be a corrupted version of the Combat Cross Whip he wielded in the first game.
The developers behind Lords of Shadow 2 also touched briefly on the haunting new musical score that will be featured in the game and how the game will feature both traditional medieval environments set within Dracula’s castle, as well as modern-day city environments as was seen in the first game’s epilogue.
The trailer that followed the presentation offered a glimpse at some of the secondary characters Dracula will meet along his journey including his son Trevor, Zobek, Alucard, and a mysterious cloaked woman as well as a whole slew of new enemies including an imposing gold-plated angel, a teleporting wraith, and a giant fire-breathing creature.
Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 will be out this winter season for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC.
