During their Pre-E3 show, Konami unveiled several details about their upcoming game Pro Evolution Soccer 2014.

One of the major announcements from today’s Konami Pre-E3 show was details about the upcoming Pro Evolution Soccer 2014, the next entry in the popular PES series.

The developers at Konami have been toiling away to bring the mechanics of pro soccer into next-gen gaming and to do so, they’ve designed an entirely new engine for PES 2014 which they have dubbed the Fluidity Engine. The engine’s name is derived from the constant fluid movements and position switches seen in many pro soccer players and Konami is confident that with the Fluidity Engine, they can recreate those movements in a virtual landscape.

The Fluidity Engine consists of six key parts which are outlined by Konami as TrueBall Tech, M.A.S.S. (Motion Animation Stability System), PES ID, Team Play, Heart, and The Core. These parts allow the development team to simulate a variety of intuitive actions such as letting the player control the center of both their character and the ball separately, realistically display body contact between players, and even monitor an individual player’s determination or “heart” which can be affected by elements such as the crowd and whether the player’s team is playing a home or away game.

More details about PES 2014 will be released soon according to Konami, so if you’re a PES fan, be sure to keep a close eye on their website.
