Following a day-long DDoS shutdown, CCP has confirmed that both EVE Online and Dust 514 are back up and running.

After a crippling DDoS attack left both games virtually unplayable early yesterday morning, developer CCP has finally confirmed that EVE Online and its FPS counterpart Dust 514 are both back online and running at full capacity.

The good news follows in the wake of a massive distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attack that hit CCP’s Tranquility cluster (the web service that hosts both EVE and Dust 514) in the early hours of yesterday morning. Both games were taken offline as CCP worked hard to identify and secure the breach and CCP released several updates throughout the course of the day to keep fans and players informed.

Now CCP has finally confirmed that the security breach has been dealt with and they also made sure to clarify in their latest update that at no point was sensitive customer data ever compromised or accessible to those who initiated the DDoS attack. The full statement can be seen on the next page.
